All league schools played several halves of basketball gaining experience on the court under game conditions. The Cardinals played against St. Athanasius and St. John's. Congratulations to all the boys and their coaches Derrick Woods and Randy Kelsey and their assistants for their fine efforts this season. A presentation of the trophy and awards assembly will be held on Friday Jan. 5 at 3pm in the gym.
All three girls basketball teams 6th, JV and Varsity have been enjoying much success this season. All have many victories and few loses so far. The girls tournaments begins in the middle of January.
Boys basketball practice for all three teams begins on December 27. The Cardinals won the preseason jamboree with victories over St. Pat's and Blessed Sacrament. In league play the team again defeated Blessed Sacrament and lost to St. John's. The JV team is 2 - 0 in league play.
The Cardinal Wrestlers are off to their best start in several years. After winning the preseason tournament the Cardinals have since were victorious in meets over Blessed Sacrament and St. Athanasius. This week on Saturday the Cardinals will participate in the Blessed Sacrament Invitational Tournament against all League teams. This should be an excellent test to see if the team is for real this season.
