Stewardship is ALIVE at Sacred Heart
We Are The Disciples of Christ

Prayer is essential to the life of a Christian Steward.
Our prayer helps us to be better aware of God’s goodness in our lives.
Prayer is also essential to one’s conversion and continues to challenge us to be better Christians.

Stewardship Prayer
It helps, now and then, to step back and take a long view.
The kingdom is not only beyond our efforts,
it is even beyond our vision.
We accomplish in our lifetime only a tiny fraction
of the magnificent enterprise that is God’s work.
Nothing we do is complete, which is a way of saying
that the kingdom always lies beyond us.
No statement says all that could be said.
No prayer fully expresses our faith.
No confession brings perfection.
No pastoral visit brings wholeness.
No program accomplishes the church’s mission.
No set of goals and objectives includes everything.
This is what we are about.
We plant the seeds that one day will grow.
We water seeds already planted,
knowing that they hold future promise.
We lay foundations that will need further development.
We provide yeast that produces far beyond our capabilities.
We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation
in realizing that. This enables us to do something,
and to do it very well. It may be incomplete,
but it is a beginning, a step along the way,
an opportunity for the Lord’s grace to enter and do the rest.
We may never see the end results, but that is the difference
between the master builder and the worker.
We are workers, not master builders; ministers, not messiahs.
We are prophets of a future not our own.
Amen.
- Archbishop Oscar Romero (b. August 15, 1917)

We are thankful for all the good stewardship efforts we see at Sacred Heart. We have an active Stewardship Committee that welcomes new members. Please contact Jill Weber at 240-3975

STEWARDS OF THE MONTH

Carol Robins

Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Mt. 25:21

She serves with enthusiastic energy!

As sure as Autumn arrives every year,
so does Sacred Heart's Fall Festival.
And, for nearly "13 or 14" years,
Carol Robins has been at the helm as volunteer coordinator.
"I couldn't be chair without the
committee chairs and members who are absolutely
awesome," Carol says.

An active participant of the Community Caregiving
Committee, Carol was instrumental in originating
Trunk
or Treat
for Halloween and the annual Holiday Bake
Sale. Employed by Affina, October's Steward of the Month
also finds time to serve on the Liturgy Committee and to
assist her sister, Dee Wilberding, in her role as
Wedding Coordinator.

Carol gives credit to her husband, Frank, for supporting
and participating in her activities at Sacred Heart. Together
the couple are the parents of nine, grandparents of 26
and "are blessed with one great-grandchild."

Wherever this Steward serves, she brings great
enthusiasm and energy.

DON KRAMER &
JOHANNA KRAMER-WESTON

Well done, good and faithful servants.” Mt. 25:21

“The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.”
This reference could easily apply to these good stewards. Don Kramer is a life long member of Sacred Heart Parish, where he and his wife, Angie, were married 35 years ago. Like their father, their children Johanna, James and Jenica graduated from Sacred Heart School and Columbus High School.

During his 37 years of employment at John Deere, Don has also made time to be actively involved in the life of the parish. He serves as a Eucharistic minister, as a member on the Pastoral Council and as co-chair of the Centennial Committee. He works behind the scenes offering his computer skills in the parish office and, most recently, worked closely with Johanna in helping design the activity pages of the Centennial Pictorial Directory.

At Don's invitation Johanna offered the gifts of her talents and profession as a graphic artistic in helping design the Pictorial Directory. Her life is very full as wife of Scott, and mother of 3 year-old Margaret, while employed as Programs Coordinator at Waterloo Center for the Arts. Yet she freely gave many hours to this special Centennial project, and the result is a directory we can all appreciate.

Don's philosophy of stewardship reflects an attitude of gratitude, “What I have been able to do for the parish is a small way of giving back to the church community that has been a big part of my life.”
Johanna wants to keep it going, “Everyone has benefited from the kindness of someone at least once in their life...make sure to give something back, keep the good will going. Don't be afraid to share your talents!”

Together, this father and daughter demonstrate that sharing our gifts produces a harvest of good fruits.
