Holy Hour
Come join us for prayer and reflection on each First Friday beginning October 6th at 7:30pm. Prayer will include scripture, quiet reflection, and communal prayer during Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
Marriage & Annulment Forum
The Catholic parishes of Waterloo will sponsor a Catholic Forum on "Marriage & Annulments" on Thursday, October 19, 7:00-9:00pm in O'Hagan Hall. This Forum is designed to help Catholics and non-Catholic spouses or future spouses understand what an annulment is, who gets them, how to apply, and what to expect once the process begins. Introduction to the Bible Offering
This four-week study program will meet on Thursdays in O'Hagan Hall beginning Oct. 26. Two sessions will be offered: 9:00-11:00am and 7:00-9:00pm on Oct. 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16. Each weekly session includes prayer, a taped lecture from the Little Rock Scripture series, and discussion led by trained facilitators. "The purpose of this program is to introduce the Bible to those who want to read the Scriptures or to deepen their understanding of God's word. It will give participants the foundational understanding needed to continue reading and studying the Bible as a regular part of their lives as Catholic Christians. Server Training
Students in SHS or CCD who will be new fifth grade servers MUST attend a training session on Saturday, October 21 from 9:00-11:00am in the church. Returning servers (gr. 6-12) MAY attend this training session as a way to "refresh and update" your serving skills.
Sacred Heart Clothing Drive
The Social Concerns Committee will sponsor the annual Clothing Drive on October 28 from 1:00-3:00pm in O'Hagan Hall. Donated clothing may be dropped off in O'Hagan Hall Oct. 23-26.
Anointing of the Sick
Communal anointing of elderly or infirm parishioners is celebrated at a Mass of Anointing once or twice each year. Sacred Heart School students participate in this special anointing liturgy. If you are planning to go into the hospital, ask Father about anointing after Mass, or call if homebound. A priest is on call at both metro hospitals.
Communal Anointing of the Sick is scheduled for Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the 8:15am Mass. Please contact the parish if you are in need of transportation 234-4996.
"Trunk or Treat"
Our annual "Trunk or Treat" event will be Saturday, October 28, following 5:30pm Mass. Children may attend Mass dressed in the costumes - PLEASE - NO violent or evil characters at Mass - consider dressing as your favorite Saint! At the conclusion of Mass, children will proceed to the parking areas on Randolph Street to go from vehicle to vehicle to get treats. This is a safe, fun way for our children to celebrate!

Bridges to Contemplative Living
for Adults and Young Adults
This faith sharing experience is inspired by the writing of Thomas Merton and other spiritual masters. It uses prayer, reflection, and small group discussion to lead participants on a journey toward spiritual transformation and a more contemplative, peace-filled life. Companions on the Journey
for Adults and Young Adults
Offers participants an opportunity to explore how God is working in their lives by participating in a carefully structured atmosphere of spiriual reflection, prayer, and faith sharing, under the guidance of a professional spiritual director.
