Holy Hour
Come join us for prayer and reflection on each First Friday beginning November 3rd at 7:30pm. Prayer will include scripture, quiet reflection, and communal prayer during Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

All Souls Memorial Mass
On Saturday, November 4th, at the 5:30pm parish liturgy, we will remember all those who have died this past year. If you have lost a loved one who was not a member of the parish, call the rectory to include the name of the deceased to be included in the ceremony.

Introduction to the Bible Offering
This four-week study program will meet on Thursdays in O'Hagan Hall beginning Oct. 26. Two sessions will be offered: 9:00-11:00am and 7:00-9:00pm on Oct. 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16. Each weekly session includes prayer, a taped lecture from the Little Rock Scripture series, and discussion led by trained facilitators. "The purpose of this program is to introduce the Bible to those who want to read the Scriptures or to deepen their understanding of God's word. It will give participants the foundational understanding needed to continue reading and studying the Bible as a regular part of their lives as Catholic Christians. Workshop for Couples Struggling with Infertility
The Archdiocese of Dubuque will sponsor a program for Catholic couples who are struggling with infertility. It will be held on Sunday, November 19 from 1:00-4:00pm at Covenant Medical Center. The program is entitled "When the Cradle is Empty"; it will include a prayer service, information about infertility procedures approved by the Catholic Church and information about Catholic support services for infertile couples. Bridges to Contemplative Living
for Adults and Young Adults

This faith sharing experience is inspired by the writing of Thomas Merton and other spiritual masters. It uses prayer, reflection, and small group discussion to lead participants on a journey toward spiritual transformation and a more contemplative, peace-filled life. Companions on the Journey
for Adults and Young Adults

Offers participants an opportunity to explore how God is working in their lives by participating in a carefully structured atmosphere of spiriual reflection, prayer, and faith sharing, under the guidance of a professional spiritual director. Groups will meet monthly, with the day and time to be determined by the participants. Groups are now forming for men and women. For questions call Dave Cushing at 234-9912 .

Confirmation Preparation
Confirmation is celebrated during the junior year of high school in our parish.  An information session for parents and candidates will be held on November 12th, at 9:15 a.m. in O'Hagan Hall.  A kick-off retreat will be held on January 20-21, 2007, led by our parish Youth Minister, Kim Huff, and her Confirmation retreat team.  Nationally known and respected Youth Minister, John Angotti, will be the keynote speaker / musician! Parish classes are scheduled for February 11th and March 25th.  Service hours are a program requirement and will be discussed at the information meeting.  All Waterloo and Evansdale parishes will jointly celebrate this sacrament with our Espiscopal Vicar, Msgr. Lyle Wilgenbusch, on Friday, April 13, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. at Columbus High School.

Parish Registration
Anyone interested in becoming a member of Sacred Heart is invited to a one hour information and registration session on Sunday, November 19th at 1:00pm in the church. Meet the staff and other parishioners, ask questions, and become familiar with our parish. Let us know that you will be attending by calling the rectory at 234-4996 and we will have a folder of information ready for you!
