Parents and guardians are asked to attend a special information session in the gym. This is the first night of class! Students will be going to classrooms for an introductory lesson to meet our new Queen of Peace friends who are joining our program this year!

New CCD families and families with in-coming first graders are asked to contact Cathy Mills at 234-8394 for more information or plan to come register your child(ren) on Sept. 10th. RCIA (Christian Initiation of Adults) & RCRA (Rite of Christian Reception of Adults)
If there is someone you know who may be interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, please give their name to Pam Johnston. You may also choose to personally invite them to attend an information session on Sunday, September 7th at 9:30am OR Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30pm at Blessed Sacrament, Putz Hall (rectory basement). You need attend ONLY ONE information session. This meeting will explain more about the adult initiation process, answer questions, and outline the schedule. Inquirers are not pressured to make any commitment at this meeting. Friends and spouses are also welcome to attend.

The metro Waterloo parishes have developed a process known as RCRA. It is an adaptation of the Rite of Christian Initiation, designed for adults who have already been baptized and catechized in a mainline Christian church. RCRA is a shorter period of discernment and preparation which concentrates on the distinctive characteristics, rituals, and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Sessions are scheduled for Monday evenings, September 29-November 17 and
will meet at Blessed Sacrament in Putz Hall. We will help you discern which process best suits your background and needs. Please call Pam at 234-8394 to set up an appointment to register for these sessions.

If
you are interested in meeting our prospective candidates and willing to share some time as a parish companion, please contact Pam (234-8394) or Julie (292-1500). You may find that this is a very rewarding ministry and even become updated in Catholic teachings and practices yourself!

Youth Choir Camp!
Students in grades 2-6 (or who have been part of the choir in the past) are invited to attend a "Choir Camp" on Sunday, September 14 from 12:00noon - 3:00pm in the church. We have a great time learning new music and preparing to lead music at weekend Masses. Please join us!

A First Reconciliation Parent meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 6:30-7:45 in the church dining room. Parents with second grade children planing to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation should attend this session. If unable to attend, please call Pam at 234-8394 to make an appointment to receive the materials.
