Holy Hour
Come join us for prayer and reflection on First Friday, January 5th at 7:30pm. Prayer will include scripture, quiet reflection, recitation of the Rosary, and communal prayer during Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

First Communion Parent Meeting
Children and families preparing to celebrate First Holy Communion for the first time, will gather on Wednesday, Janaury 24th from 6:30-7:45pm in O'Hagan Hall for an information session regarding the home study materials parents will need to prepare their child to receive First Communion in April.

Little Rock Scripture Study
This LRSS will focus on the Book of Psalms. Groups will meet :
Thursday mornings from 10:00-11:30am in O'Hagan Hall
beginning January 4th and continuing through February 15th. Cost for the study guide is $5.00 To register, call the rectory at 234-4996. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Parish Session: January 7th from 9:15-10:45am in O'Hagan Hall, with special recognition at 10:45 Mass
Metro Confirmation Retreat with John Angotti: January 20-21 at CHS


Catholic Forum: Church's Position on Stem Cell Research

The metro parishes will sponsor a this forum on Thursday, January 18th from 7:00-9:00pm in O'Hagan Hall. Dr. Janine Idziak, Director of the Bioethics Center at Loras College and Health Care Consultant for the Archdiocese of Dubuque, will explain why the Catholic Church approves of some forms of stem cell research and opposes others. The forum will include an opportunity for questions and discussion. (Snow date is January 25th.)


Listening Sessions for Inactive Catholics
The Waterloo parishes will hold listening sessions for inactive Catholics who want to discuss their relationship to the Catholic Church on February 27, 28, and March 1 at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. Sessions will be informal, non-threatening, and confidential. Watch for more in the next month's news.
