December is quickly approaching and that means basketball tournaments are close at hand. Both the 6th grade team and the varsity team have been making very good progress. Although the varsity team is still winless they have taken several games to the last few minutes and were not quite able to pull out a victory. The 6th grade team has lost only one game and should be a favored team in the 6th grade tournament. Please check the December sports calendar for the latest information on the basketball tournaments. Girls Basketball and Wrestling will begin on January 5 when we return from Christmas break. Students will receive necessary information for their participation during the week of December 22.

The Cardinal boys basketball team is getting into the middle of their season. The 6th grade team is 3 - 1 having won 3 of their games edging their opponents by 2 points in very exciting games. The varsity team has not won yet but they are playing has hard as any team every has at Sacred Heart. Their are making big and small steps to improve at each game and practice and most importantly they are all having fun playing the game. It has become necessary to change the schedule on a couple of dates. The game versus St. Ed's originally scheduled for Dec. 11 has been moved to Sat. Dec. 6 @ 9am and will be varsity only. The league 6th grade tournament will also be on Dec. 6 @ St. Pat's with the schedule to be announced at a later date. Practice on Dec. 11 will be held from 3:30 to 5:00.
